Announcing: "From Magic Seeds", Color Bakery's New Free Outdoor Art Gallery and Garden
Southern Vermont near the New York State Border

It started as a flowerbed. And like the flowers it was originally meant to highlight, it bloomed. After many cords of wood, lots of nails, sawing, hammering and a bit of vision, today it's a large outdoor art gallery that lovingly melds original dreamscape art with the beauty of nature.

Free and open to the public during the summer and fall seasons, you'll find the gallery, From Magic Seeds, in a beautiful small Vermont town in the Lakes Region. The gallery took two years for Glen to build and features the intensely colorful Color Bakery art.

The art tiles are mounted both inside and outside the structure. At night, the gallery comes alive as the glass tiles are lighted from behind with a soft, colorful glow. The glass is also dramatically displayed in what Mindy calls "The Princess Tower", a fourteen-foot high raised wooden pillar (painted purple, the Sommers' favorite color) perched atop of the structure, softly accented with carefully positioned colored spotlights on the outside and the glass tiles lit from within.

The Tower features Mindy's lighted stained glass art nouveau pieces amongst twirling ivy vines and is capped by a weathervane butterfly. Inside the gallery, which measures 22 feet wide by 34 feet long, visitors enjoy the art as they follow the interior wooden walkway, surrounded on all sides by blooming flowers. There is also a small seating area and a skylight where one can look up and peer inside the Princess Tower.

The gallery--with its overflowing flowers, colorful art, latticework, crawling ivy and colored lighting throughout, was specifically designed to create a magical, otherworldly experience for those who step inside.

As of this writing, From Magic Seeds displays over 150 art panels, which includes the artist's signature dreamscapes, florals, stained glass art nouveau, photography and vintage pastiches. And there is more to come.
